They aren't thinking about how to create equity for artists and create a middle class for musicians. Well, that's exactly what Manchureon aka Anthony Zhao is trying to do with his music and record label.

In this week's episode of Take A Shot With Me, I sit down with Manchureon, aka Anthony Zhao. Anthony is a rapper, producer, sound engineer, and UC Berkeley Senior who has started his own record label to put "music first" and empower the artist. An Asian-American with Chinese heritage growing up in San Franciso, he has been influenced by all different cultures. From learning that music could be a career from when he lived in China to now making music that is influenced by genres from all across America. Anthony is understanding of the East-West divide. We talk about his experiences as a rapper in the Asian community, how it felt starting his label, Def Odd Records, and his advice to those in the Asian community trying to start a career in music.
