Lupe Fiasco had a song entitled, "Hip Hop Saved My Life" back in 2007. It talks about how music saved his life and kept him on the right track. Music can help people get out of a dark place. Sometimes making music and following your passion can change the direction your life could go. Today, I have a guest who, even though he was bullied for being different he doubled down on music and left his hometown to completely change his life. Following your passion and always believing in yourself no matter what can make you the first in many different ways.
Hey, I'm Rob and I am the host of Take A Shot With Me. I have traveled the world, worked on radio stations, and managed artists, now I wanna interview some of the best new artists I like and drink with them
In this week's episode of Take A Shot With Me, I sit down with Lewis John. Lewis is a 20-year-old DJ/producer from Cardiff, Wales. He started making music when he was 12 and followed his passion all the way to London. Leaving his small hometown in Wales for London at 18, he doubled down on his passion for music and didn't let the struggles get to him. He became the first-ever Welshman to play on Select Radio in London and be featured on the Toolroom Record label. Lewis doesn't let rejection hold him back, he takes it all in stride and comes back stronger. In this episode, we chat about everything from his life in Wales, being bullied by the Rugby kids, moving to London, meeting Mark Knight, getting Signed to Toolroom, and much much more. I also test Lewis's knowledge of Wales and his beloved Cardiff City.
Really funny and entertaining chat with Lewis!
